~Specials and Prices~
I feel it is important for every BODY to receive a massage on a regular basis to maintain a healthy well being. With that being said, I offer many ways to save and make my services affordable for any budget.
Swedish/Relaxation Massage~
Swedish is the most common type of massage. Swedish massage combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, effleurage and cross fiber friction to break up muscle knots called adhesions.
Prenatal~
Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage – to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it's also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies. I offer one hour, side lying prenatal massage. Recommended after 1st trimester.
Reiki~
Reiki (Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning "Universal Life Force Energy" and describes the energy found in all of life. Reiki is an ancient laying-on of hands healing technique that uses the life force energy to heal, balancing the subtle energies within our bodies. Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances. Most who receive Reiki experience a deep state of relaxation and peace during the session. Some may feel heat, a tingling sensation, or seeing colors; others may feel nothing. Reiki can relieve pain, reduce stress and fatigue while bringing balance to the physical, mental and emotional bodies. I can perform a Reiki session alone or combine it with a massage.
Thai Yoga Massage~
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most classic forms of massage. Thai massage is also called Thai yoga massage or Lazy Man's yoga because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, stretching and acupressure are also used. No oils or creme are used and the client remains fully clothed.
Hot Stone Therapy~
Hot stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Smooth flat stones are heated and placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body.
Reflexology~
The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body.
For example:
Aromatherapy~
The nostrils are attached to a part of the brain called the limbic system. The limbic system controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones.
When you inhale essential oil molecules, messages are transmitted to the limbic system and affect heart rate, stress level, blood pressure, breathing, memory, digestion, and the immune system. Essential oils are also believed to be absorbed through the skin.
Each essential oil has different healing properties. For example, some oils calm while others energize. Here are some widely used essential oils and their properties:
Chakra Balancing~
There are seven main chakras: Root/Base, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown.
As the Chakras absorb and filter energy into our bodies, we can easily be affected if we encounter negative energy in our environment, or from the people around us. This may cause us to develop negative thoughts and feelings of our own, and our system starts to get out of balance. Keeping the chakras balanced and in optimum condition can not only help to restore health, but can help protect us from the negative effects of harmful energy. Special crystals are placed on each chakra to bring them back to a normal state and ensure energy is flowing freely. Chakra balancing can be added to a massage for an extra $10 or used alone.
Deep Tissue~
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
